Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of June 2024

Agricultural Finance Agency , Ministry of Agriculture (the AFNA) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 10.6 billion (US$0.327 billion) from NT$2,257.9 billion (US$69.581 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,268.5 billion (US$69.908 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$11.2 billion (US$0.345 billion) from NT$1,452.8 billion (US$44.77 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,464 billion (US$45.116 billion) at the end of June 2024. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$3.94 billion (US$0.1214 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.085 billion (US$0.0026 billion) from NT$4.025 billion (US$0.124 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.27% from 0.28% of the previous month
Of the 311 credit departments , 273 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 41 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 33.93 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,269.31% from 1,235.38% of the previous month.
The AFNA will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
