Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$1.6 billion (US$0.06 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,074 billion (US$36.73 billion) at the end of Feb. 2018. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$4.9 billion (US$0.17 billion) which decreased by NT$0.1 billion (US$0.003 billion) from NT$5.0 billion (US$0.17 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.46% , compared to that at the end of previous month.The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increase by 2.03 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 664.97% from 662.94% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
