Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$4.7 billion (US$0.16 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,078 billion (US$37.03 billion) at the end of Mar. 2018. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.1 billion (US$0.176 billion) which increased by NT$0.2 billion (US$0.007 billion) from NT$4.9 billion (US$0.169 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments increased by 0.02 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 0.48% from 0.46% of the previous month.The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decrease by 25.27 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 639.70% from 664.97% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
