Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations decreased by NT$1.65 billion (US$0.054 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,129 billion (US$36.68 billion) at the end of Feb. 2019. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.559 billion (US$0.181 billion) which increased by NT$0.256 billion (US$0.008 billion) from NT$5.303 billion (US$0.172 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments increased by 0.02 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 0.49% from 0.47% of the previous month.
The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 29.57 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 618.77% from 648.34% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
