Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$3.2 billion (US$0.108 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,135 billion (US$38.34 billion) at the end of Apr. 2019. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.506 billion (US$0.186 billion) which decreased by NT$0.181 billion (US$0.006 billion) from NT$5.687 billion (US$0.192 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.49% from 0.50% of the previous month.
The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 22.57 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 628.45% from 605.88% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
