Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$6.3 billion (US$0.21 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,141 billion (US$38.06 billion) at the end of May. 2019. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.533 billion (US$0.185 billion) which increased by NT$0.027 billion (US$0.001 billion) from NT$5.506 billion (US$0.184 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.48% from 0.49% of the previous month.
The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 1.98 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 626.47% from 628.45% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
