Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$4.6 billion (US$0.15 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,165billion (US$38.18 billion) at the end of Nov. 2019. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.203 billion (US$0.171 billion) which increased by NT$ 0.13 billion (US$0.004 billion) from NT$5.073 billion (US$0.166 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments increased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 0.45% from 0.44% of the previous month.
The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 12.81 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 677.61% from 690.42% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
