Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of August 2022

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 8.1 billion (US$0.266 billion) from NT$2,182 billion (US$71.694 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,190.1 billion (US$71.960 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$3.3 billion (US$0.108 billion) from NT$1,294.3 billion (US$42.527 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,297.6 billion (US$42.635 billion) at the end of Aug. 2022. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$3.634 billion (US$0.1194 billion) which increased by NT$ 0.056 billion (US$0.0018 billion) from NT$3.578 billion (US$0.1176 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.28% , and was down by 0.1 percentage points compared to the same month last year.
Of the 311 credit departments , 268 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 47 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 14.22 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 1,145.87% from 1,160.09% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
