Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of March 2022

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 1.5 billion (US$0.052 billion) from NT$2,152.5 billion (US$75.205 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,154 billion (US$75.257 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$3.8 billion (US$0.133 billion) from NT$1,277.4 billion (US$44.63 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,281.2 billion (US$44.763 billion) at the end of Mar. 2022. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$3.92 billion (US$0.137 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.102 billion (US$0. 0035 billion) from NT$4.022 billion (US$0.1405 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.31%, and was down by 0.06 percentage points compared to the same month last year.
Of the 311 credit departments , 267 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 46 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 28.63 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,052.5% from 1,023.87% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
