Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of January 2022

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations decreased by NT$ 9.1 billion (US$0.327 billion) from NT$2,143.3 billion (US$77.02 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,134.2 billion (US$76.693 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$4.4 billion (US$0.158 billion) from NT$1,276.3 billion (US$45.864 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,280.7 billion (US$46.022 billion) at the end of Jan. 2022. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$4.08 billion (US$0.1466 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.024 billion (US$0. 0009 billion) from NT$4.104 billion (US$0.1475 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.32%, and was down by 0.06 percentage points compared to the same month last year.
Of the 311 credit departments , 266 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 50 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 6.02 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,008.58% from 1,002.56% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
