    The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan  (the BOAF) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$124.7 billion (US$4.50 billion) from NT$2,018.6 billion (US$72.90 billion) of the previous year and amounted to NT$2,143.3 billion (US$77.40 billion) . Total outstanding loans increased by NT$54.9 billion (US$1.98 billion) from NT$1,221.4 billion (US$44.11 billion) of the previous year and amounted to NT$1,276.3 billion (US$46.09 billion) at the end of 2021. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$4.104 billion (US$0.148 billion) which decreased by NT$0.547 billion (US$0.020 billion) from NT$4.651 billion (US$0.168 billion) at the end of the previous year. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.06 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.32% from 0.38% of the previous year.

    Of the 311 credit departments , 265 had NPL ratios of less than 1%, of which 52 had NPL ratios of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 168.44 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,002.56% from 834.12% of the previous year. Meanwhile, the profit increased by NT$0.398 billion (US$0.014 billion) from NT$4.649 billion (US$0.168 billion) of the previous year and amounted to NT$5.047 billion (US$0.182 billion) at the end of 2021 .

    According to the above figures as of the end of 2021, the operational structure of credit departments has significantly improved. The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
