The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations decreased by NT$0.2 billion (US$0.0066 billion) from NT$1,173.8 billion (US$38.70 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,173.6billion (US$38.69 billion) at the end of Feb. 2020. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.280 billion (US$0.174 billion) which increased by NT$ 0.179 billion (US$0.0059 billion) from NT$5.101billion (US$0.168billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments increased by 0.02 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 0.45% from 0.43% of the previous month.
Of the 311 credit departments , 253 had non-performing loan ratios of less than 1%, of which 45 had non-performing loan ratios of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 24.12 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 695.72% from 719.84% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
