The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$6.9 billion (US$0.232 billion) from NT$1,177.6billion (US$39.51 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,184.5 billion (US$39.75 billion) at the end of Apr. 2020. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.265 billion (US$0.177 billion) which increased by NT$ 0.055billion (US$0.002 billion) from NT$5.210 billion (US$0.175 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.44% , compared to that at the end of previous month.
Of the 311 credit departments , 256 had non-performing loan ratios of less than 1%, of which 47 had non-performing loan ratios of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 6.22 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 699.79% from 706.01% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
