Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of October 2024

Agricultural Finance Agency , Ministry of Agriculture (the AFNA) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 4 billion (US$0.125 billion) from NT$2,282.9 billion (US$71.272 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,286.9 billion (US$71.397 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$15.1 billion (US$0.471 billion) from NT$1,497.8 billion (US$46.761 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,512.9 billion (US$47.232 billion) at the end of October 2024. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$4.074 billion (US$0.1272 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.039 billion (US$0.0012 billion) from NT$4.113 billion (US$0.1284 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.27%.
Of the 311 credit departments , 278 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 42 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 17.75 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,245.93% from 1,228.18% of the previous month.
The AFNA will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
