Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of May 2024

Agricultural Finance Agency , Ministry of Agriculture (the AFNA) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 9.5 billion (US$0.293 billion) from NT$2,248.4 billion (US$69.352 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,257.9 billion (US$69.645 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$15 billion (US$0.463 billion) from NT$1,437.8 billion (US$44.349 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,452.8 billion (US$44.812 billion) at the end of May 2024. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$4.025 billion (US$0.1242 billion) which increased by NT$ 0.013 billion (US$0.0004 billion) from NT$4.012 billion (US$0.1238 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments kept flat at 0.28%.
Of the 311 credit departments , 274 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 40 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 0.94 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 1,235.38% from 1,236.32% of the previous month.
The AFNA will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
