Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of February 2022

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 18.3 billion (US$0.653 billion) from NT$2,134.2 billion (US$76.164 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,152.5 billion (US$76.817 billion). Total outstanding loans decreased by NT$3.3 billion (US$0.118 billion) from NT$1,280.7 billion (US$45.705 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,277.4 billion (US$45.587 billion) at the end of Feb. 2022. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$4.022 billion (US$0.1435 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.058 billion (US$0. 0021 billion) from NT$4.08 billion (US$0.1456 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.31% from 0.32% of the previous month, and was down by 0.07 percentage points compared to the same month last year.
Of the 311 credit departments , 265 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 49 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 15.29 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,023.87% from 1,008.58% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
