Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$2.6 billion (US$0.089 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$1,131 billion (US$38.85 billion) at the end of Mar. 2019. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.687 billion (US$0.195 billion) which increased by NT$0.128 billion (US$0.004 billion) from NT$5.559 billion (US$0.191 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments increased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 0.50% from 0.49% of the previous month.
The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decreased by 12.89 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 605.88% from 618.77% of the previous month.
The BOAF will request the credit departments to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
