Asset Quality of the Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations as of the End of February 2023

The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total deposits extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$ 9.3 billion (US$0.305 billion) from NT$2,199.4 billion (US$72.159 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$2,208.7 billion (US$72.464 billion). Total outstanding loans increased by NT$2.5 billion (US$0.082 billion) from NT$1,317.7 billion (US$43.232 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,320.2 billion (US$43.314 billion) at the end of Feb. 2023. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$3.468 billion (US$0.1138 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.031 billion (US$0.001 billion) from NT$3.499 billion (US$0.1148 billion) at the end of the previous month. The average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.26% from 0.27% of the previous month, and was down by 0.05 percentage points compared to the same month last year.
Of the 311 credit departments , 277 NPL ratio of less than 1%, of which 50 had NPL ratio of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 12.93 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 1,291.67% from 1,278.74% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
