The Bureau of Agricultural Finance, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan (the BOAF) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 311 Credit Departments of Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations increased by NT$4.8 billion (US$0.162 billion) from NT$1,184.5billion (US$39.94 billion) of the previous month and amounted to NT$1,189.3 billion (US$40.10 billion) at the end of May. 2020. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these credit departments totaled at NT$5.108 billion (US$0.172 billion) which decreased by NT$ 0.157billion (US$0.005 billion) from NT$5.265 billion (US$0.178 billion) at the end of the previous month. he average NPL ratio of these credit departments decreased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 0.43% from 0.44% of the previous month.
Of the 311 credit departments , 254 had non-performing loan ratios of less than 1%, of which 44 had non-performing loan ratios of 0%, indicating that loan quality was quite high. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs increased by 21.22 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 721.01% from 699.79% of the previous month.
The BOAF will continue to maintain a firm grasp of the operational situation at credit departments, and will strengthen oversight and guidance work to continue to assist credit departments to ensure sound operations, and to maintain the stable development of agricultural finance.
